BOARD OF WATER COMMISSIONERS MEETING JUNE 22, 2011
Members Present: Mr. Joseph Duffy, Mr. Bruce Young, Mr. Michael Chernicki, and Mr. Douglas Ficks. Absent with notice: Mrs. Mary Lou Sutter.
Also present: Mr. Neal Merritt, Water Supt.
Meeting opened at 5:00 P.M.
SUBJECT: Superintendent’s Report-Account#2770-Abatment: Estimated reading from previous owners. Got actual from meter replacement. $123.00.
Motion by Mr. Young to abate $123.00; seconded by Mr. Douglas Ficks. Voted 4-0 in the affirmative.
Reviewed e-mail regarding potential water usage at new Brockton Power Plant and possible effect on Hanson. We will forward information regarding our history usage of Brockton water to Selectmen Amico.
Neal continues to investigate water main extension at Woodbine Avenue Extension and possible implementation of the Betterment program.
The Board signed the Chemical Treatment Contract for Sodium Hydroxide with Univar USA Inc.; also signed the contract for the Phase I of the Dechlorination program for professional services supplied by Camp Dresser & McKee in the amount of $34,500.
The Commission reviewed the water department expenses to date.
Commissioners reviewed the minutes of May 25, 2011. Motion by Mr. Doug Ficks to accept the minutes of May 25, 2011 as typed. Seconded by Mr. Mike Chernicki. Voted 4-0 in favor.
Motion by Mr. Doug Ficks to accept the minutes of June 8, 2011, Regular and Executive session (which are to remain confidential) as typed. Seconded by Mr. Mike Chernicki. Voted 4-0 in favor.
Motion by Mr. Bruce Young to enter into Executive Session at 5:20 for the purpose of discussing collective bargaining with Supt. Neal Merritt. Seconded by Mr. Doug Ficks. Roll call vote: Mr. Young, aye; Mr. Chernicki, aye; Mr. Duffy, aye; Mr. Ficks, aye. 4-0 in the affirmative.

Motion by Mr. Doug Ficks to adjourn at 5:43 P.M. Seconded by Mr. Bruce Young. Voted 4-0 in favor.
